Allegro, AMS, PSpice, and Capture

Confused about your Cadence Simulator?

If you work for a large corporation and you have been using PSpice / Capture for a while you have undoubtly notice that the name PSpice / Capture isn't used by the Cadence sales reps anymore. The truth is though, that the new Allegro Design Entry that you've been hearing about is actually the same Capture program you've been using for a while. And the AMS 210 simulator you've been hearing about is the same as the PSpice simulator you've been using. Starting last year, Cadence decided that large corporate customers would be serviced by an in-house sales team and that the PSpice / Capture product you were using would be renamed Allegro Design Entry / AMS 210. Other than a change to the splash screen the program is the same as PSpice / Capture.

On the other hand, if you work for a small company, the PSpice / Capture programs you have been using are still available as always. You have to buy them through the VAR EMA (ema-eda.com).
